My name is Simone Marie Coenen, born and raised in Belgium. I am the founder of Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate.
When first visiting Canada in 1991, I found that Toronto was missing high quality, authentic Belgian Chocolate and I saw that as an opportunity to give Torontonians a whole new perspective!
My goal was to bring all chocolate lovers the best out of Belgium.
I started by finding artisans who produced exquisite chocolate and chocolate truffles for their local markets. I then created beautiful packaging to please the Canadian tastes and last but not least, provided a broad range of exceptional services.
As a consequence, our family chocolate shop opened in 1993 and quickly became “The Chocolate Lover’s First Choice” by holding to our original formula and to the delight of all our clients including personal and corporate as well as visitors to both our store and website. They all enjoy our beautifully custom prepared chocolate truffle gifts, quite often for birthday presents as well as our highly successful product line: the Private Label Chocolate Squares for corporate gifts and family events.
Gourmet Belgian chocolates, beautiful packaging and exceptional service have allowed Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate o quickly become “The Chocolate Lover’s First Choice” in the city. Since 2003 with the addition of our online store, simonemarie.net, Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate has a large window on the web and has been serving clients from all over the world.
Today, since 2017, Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate is owned and managed by Etienne Gravel, also owner of Le Chocolat Belge Daniel located at 4242 Dundas Street West in Etobicoke. Etienne, proudly continues the Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate tradition offering to his clientele gourmet and healthy chocolates imported from Belgium.
Currently Simone Marie Belgian Chocolate is operating as an online retailer specializing in unique gourmet chocolate gift boxes and baskets for delivery across Canada and around the world.
